Personalized Support for Every Step of Your Journey
Madeleine works one-on-one with you to help you move through the barriers that are keeping you from the life you want — finding new ways forward that feel safe and right for you. She sees each person as unique and fully capable of growth, and brings genuine warmth and care to every session.
Areas of Specialization

Anxiety Counselling
Together we’ll discover how anxiety shows up uniquely for you — your physical sensations, emotional triggers, and the cycle that keeps it going. You’ll learn to challenge the thoughts and beliefs that fuel it, reconnect with feelings you may have been avoiding, and develop real coping strategies that address the root. Step by step, you’ll grow into a calmer, more confident version of yourself.

Depression Counselling
Depression touches everything — how you feel, how you think, how you move through the world. Together we’ll look at what’s really driving it and work to help you reconnect with the things that bring meaning: the people, the purpose, and the hope for your future that’s still there, waiting.

Trauma Recovery
Healing from trauma takes a safe, supported space — and a counsellor who knows how to hold it. Whether rooted in childhood or more recent experiences, Madeleine uses specialized trauma-informed approaches to help you process what happened, restore your sense of safety, and move forward with greater ease.

EMDR TherapySpecialty
EMDR helps the brain process what it hasn’t been able to on its own — stuck memories, trauma, and deeply held negative beliefs that keep showing up in your life. Without requiring you to retell everything in detail, it can create powerful shifts for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and patterns that haven’t budged with other approaches.

ICBC CounsellingDirect Billing
After a motor vehicle accident, it’s common to find your body still on high alert — even once the physical injuries have healed. Anxiety while driving, trouble sleeping, intrusive memories, and emotional overwhelm are all signs that your nervous system has stayed in protection mode. Together we’ll use trauma-informed and nervous system–focused approaches to help you process what happened, restore your sense of safety, and rebuild the confidence you had before the accident. ICBC direct billing is available, and no doctor’s referral is required to begin.

Veterans Affairs CounsellingVAC
Military service places extraordinary demands on the nervous system — and the effects can persist long after service ends. If you’re experiencing hypervigilance, intrusive memories, emotional numbness, or difficulty feeling safe, your nervous system may still be in protection mode. Together we’ll use EMDR and trauma-informed approaches to help you process what happened, regulate your stress response, and rebuild a life with greater calm and confidence. VAC direct billing is available.

Emotional Boundaries
Healthy boundaries aren’t walls — they’re about knowing yourself and honouring your needs. Together we’ll explore how your boundaries formed, what patterns are showing up, and how to build, maintain, and communicate limits that feel grounded, clear, and genuinely yours.

Childhood Trauma Recovery
The experiences we carry from childhood can quietly shape so much of our adult lives — sometimes in ways we don’t fully see until we look. In a safe, gentle space, we’ll explore how those early experiences may be showing up today and work together toward the healing that lets you build the life you truly want.

Communication & Relationship Challenges
Whether you want to communicate more clearly, resolve conflict without it escalating, or rebuild connection after a rupture — Madeleine offers practical, specific tools to help. Together you’ll explore the patterns and beliefs shaping how you relate to others, and work toward relationships that feel safe, meaningful, and real.

Anger
Anger is often misunderstood — and rarely talked about honestly. Together we’ll explore how anger shows up for you: the thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and hidden triggers beneath it, and what happens when your boundaries have been crossed. You’ll leave with practical tools to work through anger in a way that feels grounded and genuinely yours.

Self-Esteem & Shame Resilience
So much of how we move through life is shaped by how we feel about ourselves. Together we’ll work to build genuine self-acceptance, understand how we can unknowingly give our power away, and help you communicate your feelings, needs, and wants — so you can go after the life and goals that are truly yours.

Virtual Counselling BC
If you’re not in Victoria — or life just works better from home — virtual counselling offers the same quality of care through a secure, confidential platform. Research consistently shows it’s just as effective as in-person therapy, and many clients find the comfort of their own space helps them open up more easily.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes – a free 30-minute call is available with no obligation or pressure. It’s a chance to share what’s bringing you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether working together is the right fit.
When are you available to see clients?
Sessions are available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm. If you need an appointment outside these hours, reach out — Madeleine will do her best to find a time that works for you.
How long are sessions, and how many will I need?
Each session is 50 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged when needed, with fees adjusted accordingly. As for how many sessions you’ll need, every person’s journey is different — many clients reach their goals in 8–12 sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. Madeleine regularly reviews your progress and adjusts the approach accordingly. Most clients begin weekly or bi-weekly to build momentum, shifting to a less frequent schedule as things improve. The pace is always yours.
Do you offer virtual counselling?
Yes. Virtual sessions are available to adults throughout British Columbia and are just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns. Many clients find the comfort of their own space actually enhances the process. All virtual sessions are conducted via a secure, PIPEDA-compliant video platform. In-person sessions are available in Victoria at #230 – 1641 Hillside Avenue.
Is EMDR or RTT right for me?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, and deeply held negative beliefs. RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) uses hypnosis and regression to access and reframe subconscious patterns — making it particularly powerful for deep-seated fears, low self-worth, and emotional blocks that haven’t shifted with other approaches. Madeleine will explore whether either approach is a good fit during your initial sessions and walk you through the process thoroughly before beginning.
What is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and why does it matter?
Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) are members of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, a professional organization with rigorous requirements around education, training, and ethical standards. Choosing an RCC means your counsellor has met — and is committed to maintaining — the highest professional standards in the province.
Is everything I tell you kept private?
Yes. What you share with Madeleine is completely confidential — this is the foundation that allows clients to speak openly and honestly. There are three legal exceptions to confidentiality: if a child is being or is about to be abused or neglected; if you disclose plans to harm yourself or others; or if your file is subpoenaed as part of legal proceedings. These limits will be reviewed with you before your sessions begin.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule through the Jane booking app, by calling 778-584-3955, or by text (please include your name). Cancellations made with at least 24 hours’ notice are not charged. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee applies — with the exception of sudden illness.
